Notification controls

Review current notification controls behavior, availability, limits, and operating details for Slash Social.

Notification controls let each teammate tune routine Slack DM alerts. Admins, creators, and approvers can adjust their own per-alert choices from Settings without suppressing required workflow and publishing failures.

What it includes

Notification controls live in the Settings work center and are available on the Team plan (not on Free or Starter).

Each user manages their own notification preferences. Supported adjustments include:

Control Effect
Enable / disable Turn one routine alert type on or off for your Slack user
Use default Restore the persona-based default for one alert type
Digest Defer alert types that explicitly support digest delivery
Snooze Pause all routine alerts for 30 minutes, 2 hours, until tomorrow, or one week
Delivery fallback Use Slack DM when an older unsupported channel preference is stored

Critical alert types bypass per-alert choices, digest, category suppression, and snooze. The registered critical set includes publishing failures, approval requests, payment failures, plan-limit blockers, and admin workflow blockers. Slack workspace permissions, routing misconfiguration, or delivery outages can still prevent a message from arriving.

How to use it

  1. Type /social and open Settings.
  2. Open Notifications or Notification preferences.
  3. Adjust individual notification types, or use category controls when the modal groups them.
  4. Save your changes. Preference updates apply to your Slack user in the current organization and workspace.

To confirm a change worked, adjust one preference, trigger an event of that type, and check that the next alert follows the setting you saved. For critical types, confirm delivery even when related routine types are disabled.

Details

  • Work center: Settings
  • Personas: Admin, creator, and approver users can access notification preferences for themselves

  • Lifecycle: Launch
  • Scope: Per-alert Slack DM preferences, supported digest modes, and global snooze
  • Baseline actions: Read, dismiss, and mark-all-read remain available even when paid controls are unavailable

Routine preferences do not block critical alerts. General quiet-hour editing and email or in-app channel selection are not part of this launch claim. Morning digest scheduling has its own workday and timezone controls.
