Canva design imports bring approved Canva creative into Slash Social. You connect your Canva account, export designs into your brand asset library, and attach them to drafts before scheduling.
What it includes
- Personal OAuth connection to preview and export designs you can access
- Export to a validated PNG, store it in your brand asset library, and attach it to a draft
- Link-only references when export is not yet available (scheduling stays blocked until media is exported)
- Metadata preserved: design title, dimensions, and source link
- Unfurl actions on shared Canva design links in Slack: Attach to Post and Import to Asset Library when link sharing is enabled in your workspace
Slash Social remains the system of record for publishing and analytics. Canva is the design source, not the publishing destination.
How to use it
- Open App Home, go to My Connections, and choose Connect Canva to authorize your Canva account.
- Share a supported Canva design link in Slack and wait for Slash Social to show its preview and actions.
- Choose Import Design to save the design to the active brand, Export Design to make the media publishable, or Attach to Post to create a draft with the design attached.
Admins, creators, and approvers can use the actions shown on a supported Canva design link in Slack. Slash Social does not provide a general Canva design browser or editor.
If export is not yet available for a design, Slash Social keeps a link-only reference. Scheduling stays blocked until the file is exported and stored in your asset library.
Details
Plan access: Included on Free, Starter, and Team. Canva usage has no separate monthly quota; exported files count toward normal asset storage limits. See Plan comparison and Usage limits.
Lifecycle: This capability is available. The supported launch scope is personal Canva connection plus Slack-link preview, brand-library import, image export, and draft attachment.
Scope: Canva imports are brand-scoped. Designs you export land in the active brand asset library and attach to posts for that brand.
If Canva access is revoked or required permissions are missing, reconnect from My Connections. Unsupported designs remain link-only; export the file in Canva and upload it manually. Timed-out or failed exports can be retried from the Slack action.
