Save your first Post with Quick Start

Goal

Use Quick Start in App Home to save one useful, editable Post in Create. You do not need to connect a social account, set cadence, choose pillars, configure approvals, or change plans before you save the Post.

Before you begin

• Open Slash Social App Home from the Slack app list.
• Finish Install Slash Social in Slack if the app is not already in the workspace.
• Decide whether you will set up the first brand or use Delegate setup to ask a teammate. Delegation does not transfer billing ownership or brand ownership.
• Have a brand name ready. A website is optional.

Steps

1. In App Home, find Start with one useful post.
2. Select Set up brand direction. Enter the required brand name and, if available, the website.
3. Review the suggested brand direction. If website enrichment is slow, fails, or is skipped, continue with editable starter direction.
4. Select Review brand direction, make any corrections, and accept it.
5. Select Open Composer. Composer opens in Create with the accepted direction available as context.
6. Write or generate the Post. Generation can continue in the background, but Quick Start remains incomplete until you save the Post.
7. Review the editable copy and select Save draft.
8. Reopen the saved Post from Create to confirm it is stored in the permanent product.

After the save, Slash Social asks what should happen to this Post. You can schedule it yourself, request teammate review, request client approval when available, or keep it as a draft. Account connection appears only when the selected action requires a publishing target.

Choose the next motion

The choice after saving applies to this Post, not to every future Post:

• Schedule it myself keeps you in control and asks for an account only when a publishing target is needed.
• Ask a teammate to review creates work in Approvals for an eligible teammate.
• Ask a client to approve uses the client-review path when that capability and an eligible reviewer are available.
• Keep as a draft leaves the Post in Create with no publishing or approval commitment.

You can change course later from the saved Post. Quick Start does not silently create a recurring schedule, connect an account, invite a reviewer, or change a plan.

Confirm it worked

• Quick Start shows ✓ First real Post saved and then retires.
• The Post appears in Create and opens through the normal Post controls.
• Closing and reopening Slack returns you to the saved Post or the exact action you were completing.
• No social account was required unless you chose to schedule or publish.

As a final check, close the modal and reopen Slash Social App Home. The first-run card should no longer compete with your normal work centers after the Post is safely stored. Create remains the permanent place for editing the Post; Approvals and Calendar appear only if the motion you chose created work there.

If something goes wrong

Quick Start opens for the wrong brand

Confirm the active brand in App Home, then reopen Quick Start. Brand direction, Posts, approvals, and account connections are brand-scoped.

Website enrichment is slow or fails

Continue with the editable starter direction. A website is optional and enrichment does not block Composer.

Generation fails

Select Open failed work from Quick Start or open failed work in Create, then retry. Failed or queued generation does not complete Quick Start.

You closed Composer

Return to App Home and select Resume Composer. Slash Social restores the durable compose session and accepted brand direction.

You do not have permission to continue

Ask an organization or brand administrator for access. If setup was delegated to you and you cannot complete it, select Decline setup to return it to an eligible administrator.

Slack reopened a different destination

Open the saved Post from Create. Pending actions resume only while their object and authorization remain valid; otherwise Slash Social routes you to one safe recovery action.

Next step

Create and schedule a Post when you are ready to connect an account. Configure pillars and topics or cadence and approval channels later from Settings when your workflow needs them.
