Link distribution

Review current link distribution behavior, availability, limits, and operating details for Slash Social.

Link distribution keeps campaign destinations, calls to action, tracking parameters, short links, and Link in Bio destinations consistent for a brand. Configure the defaults once, then review the resolved link on each post before it is approved or published.

What it includes

Capability Purpose
Calls to action Store reusable CTA text and destination defaults for a brand, campaign, pillar, or platform context.
UTM attribution Add configured source, medium, campaign, term, and content values to eligible links.
Shortlinks Create a shorter redirect URL for a governed destination.
Link in Bio Maintain the links and featured posts shown on the brand’s bio page.

Link settings are brand-scoped. More specific campaign, pillar, platform, or account settings can override broader defaults where the relevant settings screen offers that scope.

  1. Open App Home, choose Settings, and open the links or attribution section.
  2. Set the brand’s default CTA and destination behavior.
  3. Open UTM Settings to enable automatic tracking and enter the default values you want applied to post links.
  4. Create a shortlink when you need a compact governed URL, or open Link in Bio to manage the bio page.
  5. Save the settings, then open a draft that contains a link and verify the resolved destination and tracking values before approval.

The expected result is a working destination with the configured attribution values. A shortlink should redirect to the saved destination, and a Link in Bio change should appear on the brand’s public bio page after the update completes.

Access and availability

Link distribution is included on the current public plans. A user still needs access to the active brand, and administrative link settings require a role that can manage brand configuration. Campaign- or account-specific overrides require access to that underlying object.

Shortlinks use the configured public base URL or the brand’s primary short domain when one is available. Changing a default does not rewrite links already published on external platforms.

Troubleshooting

If a shortlink or bio link does not work:

  1. Confirm the destination is a complete, valid URL.
  2. Confirm you are editing the intended brand and, when applicable, the intended campaign or account override.
  3. Open the saved shortlink or bio entry again and verify the destination persisted.
  4. Try the destination directly to separate a destination-site problem from a Slash Social redirect problem.
  5. Follow Shortlink or bio link troubleshooting if the saved link still fails.

See CTA settings, Bio and UTM settings, and Configuration domains for the related tasks and scope rules.
